Ochsner Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as a Supervisor – RN Operations Coordinator on the Medical‑Surgical (Med‑Surg) unit at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, Louisiana. This role is ideal for an RN who enjoys clinical leadership, operational coordination, and supporting frontline nursing teams while maintaining hands‑on involvement in patient care.
Position Overview:
The RN Operations Coordinator Supervisor provides clinical and operational oversight for the Med‑Surg unit, coordinating patient care delivery while supporting staff performance, quality outcomes, and efficient use of resources. This role serves as a key liaison between staff, physicians, and unit leadership, helping ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily clinical operations on the Med‑Surg unit.
- Use the nursing process to deliver and oversee patient care.
- Supervise and support RNs, LPNs, patient care technicians, and ancillary staff.
- Serve as a communication link between Unit Director, staff, physicians, and patients.
- Assist with discharge planning and care coordination.
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement and staff development.
- Manage human, material, and environmental resources in a cost‑effective manner.
- Promote excellent customer service, patient safety, and staff engagement.
Required:
- Current Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- RN Diploma required.
- 2+ years of experience in a fast‑paced acute care or hospital setting.
- Prior charge nurse, lead RN, or informal leadership experience.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to lead teams in a high‑acuity Med‑Surg environment.
- Effective problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
