Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled and patient‑focused Physical Therapist to join our Acute Care, Orthopedic Rehabilitation team at Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Hospital in Lafayette, LA. This full‑time opportunity allows you to work in a specialized orthopedic hospital environment, delivering high‑quality care to patients recovering from orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions across Lafayette, Louisiana.
Position Overview:
The Physical Therapist plans, evaluates, and delivers individualized treatment programs focused on orthopedic recovery and mobility. You will collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to help patients achieve optimal functional outcomes at Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform age‑ and diagnosis‑appropriate physical therapy evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized orthopedic treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation per departmental standards.
- Educate patients and families on recovery, exercises, and injury prevention.
- Participate in departmental initiatives, continuing education, and professional development.
- Support clinical education and training of physical therapy students, as applicable.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current Physical Therapist license in the state of Louisiana or eligibility for licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
Preferred:
- Experience in orthopedics, inpatient, or outpatient rehabilitation.
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient‑education skills.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong clinical judgment and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to manage an orthopedic caseload efficiently.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Windows‑based applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
