Join Ochsner Health in the Northshore Region — we’re seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead Emergency Department (ED) operations at Slidell Memorial Hospital. This leadership role is ideal for a high-performing nursing professional who is passionate about patient safety, team development, and operational excellence.

About the Role:
The Director, Nursing Unit – ED oversees the delivery of high-quality patient care on a 24-hour basis. This role is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating clinical nursing practice and administrative operations within the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities include fiscal oversight, staffing and resource management, regulatory compliance, policy implementation, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The Director will provide strong leadership, support professional development, and work closely with physicians and executive leadership to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required (Master’s degree in Nursing preferred).
  • Current Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience, including 2 years in a charge nurse, supervisor, or management role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
